Welcome to Milestones!

Welcome to Milestones, featuring a full roster of movement, recreation and enrichment programs for adults with disabilities.

The goal of our programs is to help each individual with the skills they need to transition to a meaningful and engaged life in the community and to keep them active and learning after they’ve left school.

To that end, we offer weekly evening classes that focus on recreation, social events, movement, performing arts, self-advocacy and more. The emphasis in all classes is on finding and celebrating individual strengths, building skills, and making and sustaining friendships.

Spring session starts April 10!

We’ll ring in the spring with Cafe Night on Friday, April 7, from 6:30-8:30 pm. Plus, don’t forget to sign up for Cafe Cooking on April 7, from 4:30-6:30 pm, to help prep for Cafe Night.

Performing Arts

Get in on the act! We have a growing performing arts program at Milestones where all participants take center stage.

The Joyful Chorus is for singers of all ages and abilities. We have several public performances in each session. “The results were electric for both the singers and their captivated audience,” wrote one audience member in a letter to the editor in praise of a recent performance.

Our acting studio has performed two shows in the past year — all to sold-out houses at Smith College.

Our dancing troupe has performed with the theater group in all of their performances — adding a rocking tone to all of our shows!

All of our classes incorporate teaching and practice of social skills, helping students learn to work in a group and make friends. We also have classes specifically aimed at improving social skills — language, behavior, and group dynamics.

Some of the classes are specific social groups, others incorporate explicit teaching into a class on a different subject. If you have questions about any of these classes, check with our Social Skills therapist, Meghan Carroll.

We also host dances and monthly cafe nights where students get a chance to gather in a casual setting to deepen their friendships and make new connections.
